Geoff Tour part 11 finishing in San Francisco November 18 2014
Geoff is back in Colorado again now after riding the AmTrack back from San Francisco. 2000 miles on the bike from Glacier Montana - Seattle - S.F. sweet trip!! Here is the final post from the ride:
Day 42 we woke up early with the time change in Bodega Bay and set out for a long day to the golden gate recreation area. We biked about 70 miles. Later in the day we started to hit some nice towns and a lot of people! Sausalito was a cool place to bike through in the evening. Finally we turn a corner and see the Golden Gate Bridge lit up. We camped below the bridge at a beautiful spot called Kirby's Cove on the water.
The next morning Day 43 we caught the sunrise by the bridge looking across the bay to the city and then biked over the bridge to San Fran. It was overwhelming biking in a city but also a great feeling to be here. I took off to Oakland to meet Ross the founder of Xtracycle as well as Nate and Robert. They showed me the latest bikes, we talked about biking and the adventures/support for Xtracycle in the Roaring Fork Valley! They checked out our Upski bike bags and suggested a good place for a beer. I biked over to the train station to get my ticket back to Colorado. My bike tour has ended here and I'm excited to spend a few days to check out the city!!!
